The Way To My Heart Is With A Garlic Clove, It Smells Hella Sexy When It's On The Kitchen Stove

You know that feeling you get right after the 27th straight day of eating Christmas food when it's like if I never see another sugary substance for the rest of my life it will be too soon? Yeah that's me right now. Never mind the fluffernutter I had for breakfast. I that doesn't count.

Red Beans and Rice
(the recipe I should have followed but didn't)

I felt the burning desire not only to return to the gym after a two week hiatus, but to return to my regularly scheduled largely meatless and carby diet. After clicking through epicurious a while I decided on red beans and rice mostly because I had a lot of these things sitting in my fridge left over from the chili I made for Christmas. The trouble came when I got too lazy to go to the store and retrieve the items I didn't have that the recipe called for and like anything done by a lazy person it didn't exactly move the earth when I tasted it, but that what I get.

I didn't have Tabasco or tomato sauce (only puree) to I tried to make do, but then the sauce tasted too bland so I put more spice and then it was too spicy... blah blah blah.

The end result is some food that tastes fine and some pictures with my new owl in the background. I love him, he guards my flours.
